Pamela Gibson MacDougall

Emmy-winning Creative Producer | Visual Storyteller | Brand Strategist ➽ Creating content that inspires action — April 24, 2025 (worked with Sean at different companies)

I had the privilege of working closely with Sean Brownlee for four years while I served as the Director of Marketing and Fundraising Events at Operation Freedom Paws (OFP). During that time, I saw firsthand how wholeheartedly Sean shows up as an OFP Ambassador, for our team and, most importantly, for his fellow veterans and their families in need.

As a decorated Marine Raider with 25 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, Sean brings unmatched leadership, integrity, and strategic acumen to everything he does. In addition to being recognized by Amazon as the founder and CEO of Ravenox—one of the top six small businesses in America—he dedicates his time to numerous nonprofit boards and civic organizations. From national retail councils to disaster response teams, Sean consistently advocates for veterans, small businesses, and underserved communities. His ability to unite service, strategy, and entrepreneurship makes him an invaluable partner to any organization.

From day one, Sean hit the ground running. He helped open doors for OFP, connecting us with businesses and organizations passionate about supporting our mission. He worked with OFP’s Founder and Executive Director to create a dog leash line that directly benefited our clients and their families. Sean also leveraged his platform at Ravenox to launch campaigns that raised both awareness and funds for OFP. He went above and beyond, engaging donors in person, securing silent auction items, and amplifying our fundraising efforts.

One of the things I admire most about Sean is his ability to share strong ideas while leaving room for collaboration and feedback. He always made time to brainstorm with us, and his feedback strengthened our work and its impact. No matter how busy he was, Sean was always there when we needed him to offer support.

Sean is a natural communicator and builds strong relationships with everyone he works with, whether they’re stakeholders, donors, or team members. He’s deeply respected in both military and civilian circles for his integrity, follow-through, and genuine desire to save veteran lives and serve his community.

If you’re looking for a leader who can inspire teams, open new doors, and lead with both heart and experience, Sean is exactly the person you want by your side.

Director of Marketing | Fundraising, Event Planning & Donor Stewardship — April 16, 2025 (worked with Sean at different companies)

During my time as Director of Marketing at the nonprofit Operation Freedom Paws, I had the privilege of working with Sean across a range of initiatives. From my first time meeting Sean, it was clear that his values, experience, and dedication made him a natural fit to become an ambassador at our nonprofit.

As a proud Marine, Sean brought not only his military background, but a deep, personal commitment to supporting fellow veterans and our mission of pairing service dogs with those in need. His passion wasn’t just evident, it was contagious. Sean answered the call consistently, offering his time, insight, and leadership without hesitation. Whether it was suggesting new outreach strategies or making introductions to his vast array of business contacts, he was always ready to help in meaningful ways

What impressed me most was Sean’s ability to balance so much with solid integrity. Even while leading his own company, Ravenox, as founder and CEO, he made supporting nonprofits like ours a priority. That speaks volumes about who he is, not just as a professional, but as a person.

Sean would be an incredible asset to any organization. His leadership, entrepreneurial mindset, and collaborative spirit are truly exceptional. I sincerely recommend him for any management or executive-level role. Any team would be lucky to have him.

When it comes to getting things done Sean is all about let’s find the solution. His leadership skills are one of many strong skill sets. Having a clear vision, inspiring and motivating others, and making difficult decisions is Sean. His willingness to work tirelessly to move an organization forward is something to be commended and recognized. Sean has the ability to lead from the front or from behind supporting all those around him.

Sean is an amazing communicator, he is able to break things down when needed and communicates in a way that makes a person feel hear and seen. Sean is comfortable working with people from different backgrounds and dealing with top management and entry-level colleagues.

Sean’s adaptability to see and overcome challenges is one of his many strengths. He is able to think critically about situations and will make decisions based on facts, logic, and experience.

Sean believes in collaborating, flexibility, troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Again it is my honor to recommend Sean and my privilege to call him my friend and colleague.

General Manager at Watson & Chalin Manufacturing — July 18, 2018 (managed Sean directly)

Driven to succeed, Resourceful, Professional, Intelligent. These are just a few of the first words that come to mind when I think of Sean Brownlee. I've had the distinct honor of working with him for the past two years and he brings so much to the table every day it just can't be measured, just that it's visible in his success. His can do attitude, in depth perspective and professionalism just raise the level of everyone around him and the organization entirely. He is the kind of professional you want to work with again and again. He's balancing his work in the Marine Corps Reserve and launching his manufacturing business so well you wouldn't know how he manages to do it all so well until you get to know him and then you learn that's just how talented he is.

Mark Timares

Former Director of I.T. Nordic Naturals — July 12, 2018 (worked with Sean at different companies)

Sean helped our company tremendously to take control of our brand on amazon, our product listings and our efforts at winning the buy box. Sean's knowledge of the Amazon platform and ecommerce marketplaces is deep and his positive energetic attitude is second to none. I'd highly recommend Sean and his company. Sean delivers, is organized, easy to work with, makes himself available and gets results.

Jessica Shen

Director of Brand & Marketing — July 11, 2018 (worked with Sean at different companies)

KOR Water had been on Amazon for about 4 years, and we really wanted to take our Amazon business to the next level. We wanted to work with a partner that not only understood how Amazon worked, but has successfully sold on the platform. Additionally, we are currently preparing our business for an aggressive reintroduction into the hydration business and wanted to work with someone that would understand our vision, and the strategy to get there.

After 5 long months of searching, we came across Ravenox in a feature on the Amazon blog. The article highlighted Sean’s leadership in the company, work ethic, and values. We had a feeling our company and Sean could do great things together. After our first call, he blew us away with his Amazon intelligence. We shared our growth goals with him, and he got to work on day 1. Ravenox was able to increase our revenue 40% in the first month, and the growth continued every month thereafter.

On top of the growth, Sean and his team were diligent in making sure they could help in any way possible, even if it was outside the scope of our agreement. He was always willing to stop everything and jump on a call with us whenever it was needed to brainstorm about next steps, or walk us through a solution. In addition to sales, he advised us on long term strategies, inventory management, and even taxes!

We’ve worked with a lot of partners in the past, and I have to say that Ravenox exceeded every expectation we had. He treats our business like his own, and we are excited to see how our partnership evolves.

Carrie Phair

Brand and Marketing Maven at Stated Marketing — December 4, 2017 (worked with Sean at different companies)

Sean stands out, not because of his consultant title, but because he's done what few business analysts can do- he teaches. We hired Frontier Market Solutions to inform us of the best way to do more direct ecommerce. Instead of just a document of best practices, Sean dug in with incredible due diligence, benchmarking, and a phased plan to get us there. Some firms leave off there, but Sean and team have patiently walked, educated, and explained each step, imparting the knowledge and the rationale to allow us to eventually self-govern. Sean's ability to communicate, exceed all standards- he's not only spot-on, uber responsive, but also incredibly poised. He detects opportunities before we see them, and likewise heads off challenges- easing this company transition. He's a pleasure to work with and the services he brings have already made a significant difference.

Ronald L. Schill, MBA, PhD

Professor Emeritus of Marketing and Strategy, Marriott School of Business, Brigham Young University — September 20, 2013 (Sean’s teacher)

Sean Brownlee was a student in one of my marketing classes involving active discussion of enterprise problems involving marketing decisions. He was a highly effective, frequent and persuasive planner and decision-maker in a variety of marketing problems. He has an innovative, entrepreneurial work ethic and extensive experience. He is very skillful in working with people, building relationships and an outstanding team player and leader. I highly recommend him.

SABIHA RUMANI MALIK

Executive President & Founder at The World Bee Project CIC Keynote Speaker — September 18, 2013 (senior to Sean; not direct manager)

Sean Brownlee's life experiences have helped him to develop qualities of mind and heart that leadership in today’s world calls for and depends on.

Sean was our Frontier Market Scout in post-revolutionary Cairo, Egypt, where he worked closely with Nahdet El Mahrousa, an incubator for early stage innovative social enterprises to identify the most suitable incubated business plans for investment. During this time, Sean successfully navigated the dynamic and ever- changing security crisis in Egypt and interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs throughout the entire country of Egypt and evaluated their business plans in order to match them with venture capital. He assisted in developing business plans for individuals and groups that did not currently have one. Sean also worked with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program to help identify underserved women entrepreneurs in Egypt that would be suitable to provide business and management education to in order to help grow their local economies.

Ben Grier, MBA

Blockchain | BizOps — September 18, 2013 (studied with Sean)

Beginning with our student days, I personally benefitted from Sean's presence. In the classroom he drew from a wealth of experiences to lend insight to nearly every academic exercise we encountered together. It was always a pleasure to work on a team with him.

After graduation I've been fortunate to see Sean's success grow in the professional projects he directs as he meanwhile becomes an increasingly prominent leader of his communities, ranging from local to international.

With Sean come leadership skills at a level that you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I highly recommend him for any projects or connections that could benefit from his expertise, diverse background, and ever-growing list of skills.
