A Voice for Small Business in Washington, D.C.

Invited by Amazon, Brownlee met with lawmakers to highlight the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in the modern economy.
Meeting With Policymakers
During the visit, Sean met with several key members of Congress, including Senator Richard Burr, Congressman Walter Jones, Congressman Ted Budd, Congressman David Rouzer, Senator Thom Tillis, Congressman Mark Walker, and Congressman Brett Guthrie. Small Businesses and Policy Impact
Sean emphasized how policies on cross-border state taxes, international trademark and copyright protections, and evolving online marketplaces affect small businesses nationwide. For many entrepreneurs, inaccurate or inconsistent information creates unnecessary barriers to entry. These discussions underscored the importance of creating clear, supportive policies that help businesses grow and thrive.
Staying Nimble in a Changing Economy
Technology and supply chain innovation continue to reshape commerce. Sean shared how staying nimble and adopting the latest tools have allowed businesses he works with to remain competitive. His message to policymakers was clear: small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy, and thoughtful legislation is key to their success.
Gratitude for Support
Sean expressed appreciation to the legislators who took time to learn more about small business challenges. The meetings not only gave policymakers a firsthand view of the entrepreneurial landscape but also demonstrated how small businesses drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen communities.
