From the Battlefield to Business Leadership

On Veterans Day 2018, KING 5 News Seattle featured Sean Brownlee, a Bronze Star recipient and Marine veteran, for his work in building businesses that serve fellow veterans. While many know him as a decorated Marine who protected his platoon in Afghanistan, Sean has also become a powerful advocate for helping veterans transition successfully into civilian life.

Carrying Brotherhood Beyond Service

“The bond made on the battlefield never goes away,” Sean explained. For many Marines and service members, the return home brings challenges; employment, education, and mental resilience. Sean made it his mission to extend that battlefield commitment by creating opportunities for veterans after service.

Through his business ventures, including Ravenox, Sean has turned entrepreneurship into a platform for impact. With 25% of his workforce made up of veterans, and a goal to double that, his model ensures those who served have meaningful careers.

Building American-Made Success

Sean’s rope and cordage business manufactures everything in the USA, from dog leashes to hammocks. His products have become top sellers on Amazon, proving that Made in America manufacturing can thrive in the global marketplace. Beyond production, Sean donates 10% of proceeds to Marine Corps charities, tying his entrepreneurial success directly to supporting the veteran community.

Mentoring the Next Generation of Veteran Entrepreneurs

Beyond employing veterans, Sean shares his expertise by mentoring others who want to start businesses of their own. His message is clear: veterans already have the discipline, education, and drive to succeed; what they often need is the right counseling and business guidance to unlock that success.
